I hope you’re all keeping safe and well.
There are a few things to report this time.
Firstly, I represented the club at Bally’s funeral last Sunday. It was some send-off. There were so many people there! I don’t know how many Sikhs there are in Leicester, but it looked like most of them were there on the day. It was a very powerful and emotional event which I felt privileged to be a small part of. Our condolences and best wishes to Bally’s family.
Back to more mundane things. This Saturday is our November guest day – incredible how quickly these seem to come around – usual T&Cs apply, which you can view on the website if necessary.
There are still some places available for the club Christmas bash at The Swan in Kibworth on December 13th. Please let Julie know ASAP if you’d like to go. Partners/spouses are welcome. Contact Julie on julie.napier02
With regard to competitions, you have until the end of November to get the autumn entries in for both of the 25m comps. The last cards for the 100m comp will also be shot next month (Nov), after which the results for the year will be calculated.
I have just renewed our NRA affiliation for 2025/6, which includes our Bisley Range Pass and club insurance. All very boring but it needs doing. I have also received our Shooter Certification Cards for 2026 (existing ones run out at the end of December) and these can be collected from me at the range. Please do so ASAP – I still have three cards uncollected from last year which is annoying, bearing in mind the fuss involved in getting these sorted in the first place.
Finally, parking on the range: The ground is still just about firm enough for on-range parking to continue for the time being, but probably not for much longer. I’ll let you know as and when we can’t do it any more.
