Hello Everyone
I hope you’re all keeping safe and well.
The first thing I need to mention is that you may be receiving spam email in my name. All legitimate messages will be titled ‘Update’ with an accompanying date. They will be from Pete & Tis Fearon. If you get anything from ‘Fearon Peter’ it’s NOT from me, regardless of the subject title (the last one was Fw : photos 2026) and I would strongly recommend you delete them immediately and certainly don’t open them and follow any links. Thanks to Rob N for the tip-off about this. I hope it hasn’t caused problems for anyone.
Secondly, from March 1st we are putting up the cost of club .22 ammo from £6 to £7 per box. Rising costs have made this inevitable. The price has been held as long as we could but we have reached the point where, if we don’t raise the price, we’ll be selling it at a loss. Please help the RO of the day by having the correct money, as they can’t really be expected to carry a load of change. Members have been good at doing this so far, so please continue.
Thirdly, my next door neighbour is selling his gun cabinet. It’s a 3 gun shotgun size item; I’ll be sending a flyer with exact specs in a day or two. It’s unbolted and good to go, so should be a good buy for someone for £75.
Next, a word about the 25m competitions. Completed cards for these need to be submitted by Tuesday 31st March. There are three comps: the off-elbows iron sight, off-elbows scoped and the benchrest. Cards are available from the RO of the day. Some good scores have been submitted already – keep them coming!
Finally, a bit of info that may be of general interest. My FAC comes up for renewal in June. I submitted the medical form to my Harborough surgery two weeks ago, got a text on the same day acknowledging its receipt and saying it would cost £60.17p. I got another text saying it was ready for collection today, and so it was. Not bad service really, although I found the 17p a bit strange! I’ve included this info as a bit of a guideline about what you can expect when it’s your turn to go through the process.
Best regards for now
