We’re back to business with our next guest day, which will be this Saturday 3rd January. Usual T&Cs apply.
Further news about competitions. I have already mentioned the new Friday 100m comp but I’ve attached a copy of the rules and a picture of the monthly award that is up for grabs as well as the final shield. The 25m competitions have had a further tweak though. They will now run Jan to March, April to June, July to September and October to December. This means all four sessions fall within the same year and makes up for a bit of a late start most of us have made this year due to the usual festive commitments. The ‘winter’ cards will now be due in at the end of March (not February as previously). There are now two ‘off elbows’ comps, one for scoped riles and the new one for iron sights. Sets of cards will be appearing very soon. The cards appear the same for both comps, but will be labelled differently on the back, so make sure you shoot the right ones. We are going to insist this year that all cards in all comps are named and witnessed, even if they are not scored by the RO on the day. Anonymous or unwitnessed cards will likely be discarded, so take care.
I asked if anyone was prepared to run the old style 100m comp; no-one has as yet come forward but we’ll give it another week or two just in case.

There is a target shooting show on 14th and 15th November 2026 at Stoneleigh Park Coventry.
A few of us are going. If any other members would be interested in coming, weather depending, a picnic can be provided.
Tickets are £10 each for Saturday but I am going to message them to see if we can get a group discount .
