Hello Everyone

I hope you’re all keeping safe and well.

I’d like to provide information about the 25m competitions, now that some new targets have been sorted.

There remain three competitions.

The off-hand – scoped comp remains unchanged. Same targets, six cards to shoot, best five to count, shot off elbows but a sling is permitted.

The off-hand iron sight has a new target, a photo of which is attached. This should be much easier to see (if not necessaeirly to score on) for those of us with ageing eyes. As before, there are six cards to shoot, best five to count. Shooting is off elbows but a sling is permitted. Iron or aperture sights only.

The benchrest has a new target, the standard NSRA 25m. This requires only ten shots per card (as compared to 25 on the old one) and is easier to see. Four cards are available, best three (not two as last time) to count. Rifle is to be supported by a rest or bipod, but at the front only. The butt must be in the shoulder.

Cards are already prepared in numbered sets and can be accessed by the RO of the day from the black shed.

All cards are to be submitted by the end of September.

We did have several ‘multiple sets’ entered by some members last time. Please don’t do this, as it wastes cards and uses up sets that other members could have. There is a ‘signing out’ list with the targets so we can record who has had which sets. All members are entitled to one set of cards for each comp. I have already ordered new sets of badges as most of the first lot have now been won.

Finally, notice that I won’t be at the next guest day on August as I’m shooting in a military rifle comp at Oundle. This means the card reader will not be available so guests/ammo will have t obe paid for in cash.

Best regards
