I hope you’re all keeping safe and well.
Since the last update, the club FAC has been renewed. This proved something of a drama, too complicated to be detailed here. A lesson for all of us from this episode is the importance of (a) sending off your renewal forms as soon as the reminder arrives (b) keeping a careful record of all the steps you take – proof of postage, emails of acknowledgement, date of police visits, etc. Because all of this had been done, a potentially difficult situation was avoided and the new certificate arrived just about ten days after the old one expired, so we got there in the end.
We seem to be having a good take-up for the 25m comps this season. The revised benchrest and iron sight targets have proved popular, and I’ve already received quite a few cards handed in. A reminder that you have until the end of this month to submit your various cards. One further point – I’ve been asked to put out a reminder that the ‘off elbows’ comp (the one shot at the coloured rings) is not to be shot off any sort of rest, other than elbows and a sling.
This Saturday is our latest guest day, usual T&Cs apply. I will be there with the card reader for anyone who wants to pay for guests/ammo that way. We originally had a barbecue scheduled as well, but for a variety of reasons that has been postponed for the time being.
