I hope you’re all keeping safe and well.
I’d like to begin with a big ‘thank you’ to Julie, Rob and Martin for their efforts with the barbecue last Saturday. Bacon, eggs (cooked to order), sausage and the rest. What more could you ask for? Well, probably Martin’s Slovakian sausages, which proved a great hit. We had great food and a very good attendance. Such was the gererosity of the donations that we not only covered the costs but actually made a small profit. A very successful morning.
Further thanks are due to the (many) of you who have already renewed your membership for next year. I will have a whole load of new cards with me for distribution on Saturday. Remember that if you can’t collect them in person, I’m quite happy to give them to a delegated member to pass them on. I will have the card reader with me again for anyone who wants to pay that way, including for ammo.
Finally, this could be a real chance to pick up a bargain. One of our longest serving members is giving up shooting and looking to sell his guns. He has a Uberti Henry rifle in 44/40, a ’66 Yellowboy carbine in 44/40, and an 1873 Sporting rifle in .45LC. These are available at very competitive (silly) prices. But for the paperwork I would normally have had at least one of them myself. If you’re interested in any of the above, contact Geoff at arnoldroberts. He has been away for a few days so he may not get back to you straight away.
